I remember when I died….

I remember when I died….

After serving faithfully with King Aedraxis, I was betrayed. After learning the arcane arts and sharing with those who also sought their power, not for glory, but for knowledge; the King wanted more. He sought the powers of not only magic, but technology. He turned his back on the gods and his people. He turned from his brothers and his father to embrace the darkness of the dragons. The King of Mathosia turned from being a just king to a monster and tyrant. Many Mathosians revolted against this evil, calling on allies from the High Elves and Dwarves. We stood against the king, and would have been victorious, but in the moments before his defeat, he turned to Orphiel, the Heretic, and opened rifts to the dragons, releasing the power of Regulos unto Telara. That is when I died, when we all died…

I remember when I died….

The power of the Vigil brought back many of us to finish our fight against the Tyrant and the dragons. Aedraxis and Regulos had grown in power since our deaths, but that did not defer us from our course. We stood proud. We stood true. We stood united! Our forces were mighty! We were joined with Carwin Mathos, the Tyrant’s brother; Cyril Kalmar, the leader of Mathosian resistance; Shyla Starhearth, leader of the High Elven delegation; and Borrin Gammult, from the Dwarves. We watched as Aedraxis sacrificed body and soul to Regulos. Carwin stepped in, trying to end the tyranny his brother had caused, and payed the ultimate sacrifice. I struck down with my hammer hard, to sever the link of Regulos to the world, and I gave my life to end his reign.

I remember when I died….

Now I stand 20 years later, brought back again by the Vigil. Regulos is still a threat, though he has not been unleashed from our previous battle… and he is not alone. He has been joined by five other dragons, from the different planes, and they want revenge! The wards that held the planes at bay are breaking, the prisons which kept the dragons are crumbling, and the Defiant are still committing blasphemy. I do not stand alone either, for I am a Guardian. Many of us stand against the threat, united, and resolute.

We no longer will die…For now, our enemies will die!
